Rhumhor has become a choice venue for family and friend get togethers, in particular when there’s an event to be celebrated such as a birthday or anniversary. Rhumhor has even hosted it’s own wedding on the banks of the Loch so the possibilities are endless when it comes to making the most of your time with us!
In the past year we have hosted parties celebrating 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th and even 80th birthdays!
Rhumhor’s owners are always happy to get involved in planning celebrations for our guests be that excursions, restaurant recommendations or even private caterers! With our on site hot tub, large family room with bar and pool table and plenty of socialising space, Rhumhor is the perfect location for a celebration with loved ones.
Weddings
We are also now delighted to offer Rhumhor as a wedding venue for small intimate weddings. There is something very special about an intimate, small-scale ceremony and Rhumhor is the ideal size for small weddings and elopements, with a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces perfect for a relaxed ceremony that puts the emphasis on ensuring you have the wedding you want in front of your nearest and dearest.You will have exclusive use of our five guest bedrooms, offering accommodation for up to ten adults* (plus any four-legged friends you wish to be part of the celebrations!). We can also accommodate 1 extra infant on a cot bed, as well as a baby in our travel cot.
Did you know that Scotland is the only place in the UK where you can legally get married anywhere, but you will need to ensure the ceremony is conducted by a registered celebrant. You can book a local registrar through Argyll & Bute Council, or use a Minister of Religion or Humanist celebrant for a non-religious ceremony.
The key is we don’t seek to impose a package on you – you plan the day that you want! We can suggest chefs, florists, chefs, photographers, and celebrants who will work directly with you to make your day bespoke but at the end of the day its upto you. Please note we have a 3-night minimum stay for wedding bookings at Rhumhor.
Accommodation pricing does not include an event surcharge for weddings. This is a charge of £1250 (£1000 Nov – March) for use of Rhumhor as the wedding venue and accommodation for a maximum party size of 10. Please note we can’t accommodate any larger weddings unless by prior agreement. This surcharge provides you with access to our trusted contacts, any guidance you need from us and also enables us to keep the price reasonable for those wishing to book a family holiday (because if you choose a weekend for your wedding this does impact our ability to offer Sat to Sat 7 night breaks esp during the summer). We have a maximum capacity of 10 people, including the bride and groom, for staying in the house and have a maximum capacity for 10 to enjoy dinner in the formal dining room.
Payment Terms for Weddings
A once off non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total rental charge (including Wedding Surcharge) is required to secure your chosen date, with the remainder due ten weeks prior to the arrival date.
A £500 refundable good housekeeping deposit is required ahead of your stay for Wedding Bookings which will cover any substantial breakages or negligence to the venue and accommodation.
The Small Print in Big Print for Wedding Bookings
Access to accommodation is for wedding party residents and suppliers only unless otherwise agreed. Acceptance of Wedding contract and terms and conditions are applicable to confirm booking. Hire of venue is for the duration of stay, event curfew is strictly midnight. Viewings available by appointment all year round.
