Celebrate in Scotland with style

“Amazing family celebration for Mum’s big birthday. What a fabulous house, so cosy and comfortable! Amazing sleeps and lovely to wake up to stunning views.” Christies & Dowlings: January 2016

When you have a special birthday or other special occasion on the horizon you want to celebrate it with the people you love, enjoy your celebrations and have a memorable time.

Having the opportunity to spend time with loved ones, relax, enjoy good food and wine and be away from the stress of day to day life is the perfect recipe for a family celebration be it a birthday, such as a 50th, or perhaps a golden wedding anniversary.

Most people don’t have the room in their own home to host a larger family gathering and while meeting at a restaurant can be great it can be difficult to find one that doesn’t mean some of your guests end up stressed out by traffic and travel.

When you have a family with three generations, finding somewhere that suits toddlers to those in their golden years is daunting.

Booking a break at a large self catering house where everyone can gather together, enjoy each other’s company and of course celebrate a birthday or anniversary is becoming an increasingly popular choice. It’s a much more relaxed way of marking a special occasion, and choosing a special house in a stunning location means that everyone has a memorable time and experiences the benefits of a relaxing break. Often houses can be booked for up to a week which means not just a celebration but a holiday included!

Many of our guests book Rhumhor with their families to celebrate a birthday or a special anniversary. They enjoy using the dining room overlooking Loch Goil for their special meal and of course outside catering is available. Both the drawing room and family room are popular for family games, and there is plenty of room for everyone to get together and watch a film or two together.

Family walks along the loch or to our local waterfalls are very popular as is a trip out on the Loch to see the seal colony. As the house is within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park there are numerous walks and beautiful places to visit.

This year we are looking forward to hearing how many more families have celebrated a special occasion at Rhumhor on Loch Goil. We still have availability for 2016 so why don’t you contact us to find out more?

“We had such a lovely time walking and exploring the local area…My mother also had a fantastic 60th birthday celebration and was even more pleased to have been able to see the seals when they took a motorboat out. You really are blessed with a wonderful location…” Lees-Jones: May 2014
